The Day After “National Chump Day”

For many of you who actually glance at my blog, I decided to rename Valentine’s Day to National Chump Day. I hope to get a grassroots coalition for the name change, but I haven’t got a lot of supporters. Now many of you wonder why I feel the way I do about the day. Valentine’s day projects a very flawed and false view of love. Images of Dan Cupid, roses, hearts bombard our senses while jewelers and card companies pinch from our wallets. Romance and passion are crammed down the gullets of the lonely and bitter. Only to reinforce the fact that you are nothing else you have someone to love and be love. Even as a child will see that if you have more admirers you are well loved than those who don’t  Yesterday, I went to Walmart to get groceries, it was a literal madhouse. People choking the greeting card and specialty aisles for gifts and treats for their sweethearts. Why do we have to wait for one day just to tell our loved ones how we feel. The sprit of Valentine’s day (like that of Christmas) should be all year. I have hope that all holidays will lose some of this commercialism and can get back to being fun . Well, I blew some steam. I will be starting a petition soon in time for next year. I’ll see ya’ll later. Tata for now
