Craving for a Rant......My very first rant.

I was just sitting around my room having just finished with my financial aid paperwork and was just in the mood for a big, juicy rant post. So I am about to sink my fangs in this thing and chew it down to the bone. Wow, that was a lot of figurative language. Anywho, the topic for my first rant on the Planet Blogger will be video games. Games are becoming more and more innovative in design and gameplay. Yet, as games get better to look at and play, the price because more and more expensive. I am a budget gamer who likes to wait for the "Greatest Hits" line to come out before I even think about buying it. All I find a good place for games is Ebay. Ebay is your best friend if you know how to use her right. Treat her with disrespect and carelessness and she'll bite you right in the wallet. Retail stores are getting ridiculous nowadays. My local Sam Goody isn't even trying to sell games anymore. I like my salespeople to actually give one thirds of a damn at least. I go in and if I have a question about some games, they don't know way or at least ask if I got a question. Ebgames is one store that have a problem with at times. One problem I have is their lack of knowledge in their stock. I was shopping in an Ebgames in Jacksonville with my mom and aunts and I wanted to get a game for my ever small GBA collection. So I was talking to an associate about this game called Fire Emblem. Anywho, I had to discuss with my mother (me being a momma's boy, I have to go over all my purchases with her). So after I gained her approval, the associate I was talking to had gone home for the day, so I had to deal with someone else. So, I asked him about the game and everything. So first off, he couldn't find the game and second when he did find the game, it wasn't the same game the other associate was talking about. The game came with instructions and other swag, this was just the game. So after about 5 minutes of diplomacy, I finally got the one I wanted. The life of a gamer is a pretty lonely one I must admit, but it's a life of simplicity and peace.

Finally on the road to higher learning and it's about damn time.

Well over the past few weeks, I ( and with the huge help of my mother) am finally getting back into the swing of things when it comes to school. Now don't get me wrong, I loved the time off from school and work, but I am really looking forward to school and getting a job. Yesterday, I had to take my math placement test in order to get into a good math class. When me and mother got there, I spotted my friend and old co-worker, Brian. Brian is one of those dudes who God sends down every so often to show you that there are other people who are in the same boat and they still live. So almost instantly, we start chatting about school, work, and the most important topic in our lives: Video Games. He's working at a local video store in my neighborhood and says that they are hiring. I plan on taking a walk down there and check them out. Free rentals and a good insurance plan are some good benefits despite the meager min. wage. Since my 21 th birthday, I needed to take a hard look at my life and I need a change. My problem is that I am too sheltered living in the cocoon of safety named Waycross. Everything that I have is either in walking distance or will be built close by. I am seeking to travel to the bright lights of Atlanta. I am like the Hebrews who wander the deserts of stagnation in order to reach the promise land of milk and honey. It feels like a doomed sometimes of living my entire life in this town of doldrums. Yet, I am going to do what I can do and get the hell out of this town. Well, it's getting late and need my rest to face yet another pissy day. Holla at ya later and no Gamer moment today.
